[Kamimashiro/Mashiro] Hidden spot of Mashiki⁉ Iidayama Jorakuji Temple!

Hello!

This time, I would like to introduce you to the spots in Mashiki Town, which is also my hometown.

I also ran to Iidayama Jorakuji Temple and Iidayama summit for marathon practice!

[Here is the highlight! ]

・Even beginners can climb!

・You can overlook the Kumamoto plain from the summit!

・The name of Mt. Iida comes from the folk tale of Higo⁉

everyone is"Iidayama"Do you know that mountain?

It is characterized by a slight depression near the top of the mountain as shown in this photo. The place is located in the area called Koike in Mashiki Town.

If you come from the direction of Mifunemachi, turn right when you see these two signs.

You can see the idyllic rural scenery. It was the season for rice planting, so we could see the rice planting.

When you see this sign, the road branches. If you want to go to Iidayama Jorakuji by car, go left. If you want to go to Jourakuji while exploring the nature exploration road, go right.

I am aiming for Iidayama Jorakuji from the driveway (left direction) to practice the marathon.

On the way, I was able to see Shishidoshi. You can see the flow of water like this in places.

It's about to arrive. It is very difficult to get on and off the car on the road ahead of this sign, so if you come by car, please slow down the speed.

This is the parking lot space.

Jorakuji Temple is right next to the parking lot.

Be careful when climbing the stone steps as it is slippery after it rains.

Jorakuji is a temple of the Tendai sect located at the 431th station of Mt. Iida (elevation 1140m). It is said that it was opened in the late Heian period (around 1150 to 47) by Masato, the younger brother of the 12th chairman Tadahiro Hieizan, and in the XNUMXth year of Emperor Satatsu, the Hira Jojin from Senkaku Kannon and the Kuju Tower It is said that they carried around and opened the base.

It is thought that Jorakuji was a temple with a character as a dojo for the study and training of the four denominations of Zendai in addition to Tendai, Shingon, and Jodo sect, and has produced a monk who later opened Sengakuji, the bodhisattva of the Imperial Family. .. (Partly quoted from Kumamoto Prefectural Tourism Federation website)

You can see historical cultural properties on the site.

Then, I would like to aim at the summit of Mt. Iida. Please note that you can only walk to the top of the mountain.

Along the way, you will pass the bamboo forest road. You can see the scenery that you can see in Arashiyama, Kyoto here!

I'll be arriving soon!

When you see this torii, it will be near the summit. There is also a rest area after passing this torii (no toilet).

Finally arrived! The wind is pleasant and you can feel a sense of accomplishment! The recessed part of the summit of Mt. Iida corresponds to this grassland area!

It was a bit cloudy during the rainy season, but the view from here is actually exceptional!

By the way, I was curious about the name of "Iidayama", so I looked it up! (http://www.kumamotokokufu-h.ed.jp/kumamoto/shoukai/k_minwa.html(Partly quoted)

A long time ago, when Iidayama applied for a back compare to Kinhozan, Kinhozan treated it lightly, saying "I shouldn't beat me." Iidayama, who was angry at it, insisted, "No, I'm definitely higher!", and eventually I decided to try to grate each other's gutters and let water flow to compare which is higher.

So, when I passed a gutter between the summits and poured water, it flowed toward Iidayama who was proud of the height, and I was completely embarrassed. I said that. From this,"Iidayama"It seems to have come to be called.

That's the origin of the interesting name! Next time I wanted to climb Mount Kinbune!

How was that.

Everyone may discover new things when they climb the local mountain!

*Be careful of infection measures, considering the effects of the new coronavirus.
